So Dakota and I are mostly moved in to our new house. There are still some things we need to organize or buy, but mostly, we’re home. :)
It’s still kinda odd, him coming home every night instead of not seeing him on work nights. But its nice. Especially since I can always tell when he’s coming home because his cat comes out and sits with me. I guess she’s been with him longer than I have, she must know him better :P. Speaking of Scooter, I am really happy with how shes adjusting. People kept telling me she was going to freak out and not leave the room or something, and she didn’t for like, the first few hours. She was confused because at the new house Dakota’s furniture is the same as it was at his other house and she recognized it, but you could tell she knew she wasn’t in the same place. And when we opened the bedroom door, you could tell that like blew her mind. And then soon enough she was hiding in our entertainment center and I could tell she has accepted it. She still prefers to spend her time in the room, but she’s not a sociable cat, moving wasn’t going to change that. But its nice that she comes and sits with me at night.
We have had our troubles, like me burning my hand the first night I tried to cook (from which I will likely have a scar) but the good outweighs the bad, like all three of us snuggled on the couch watching a movie. I know this isn’t going to be the same forever, so I try and keep myself in the moment as much as possible instead of worrying about clothes that need to be folded or dishes that need to be done. Dakota has been the a big part of the happiest years of my life (I’m sure college and my job help, but yeah, its mostly Dakota) and I hope it stays that way. <3
